Malcolm X Day Committee Descriptions

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Malcolm X Day Committee. All committee members are volunteers; none of the members including the founder or senior members of the Steering Committees receive compensation for our time and effort.

Historically Malcolm X Day was preceded by a week of programming as well as a full day of programming on the day of the main event. Pre event programming included panel discussions and book signings, film festivals, and spoken word events aligned with a central theme. Volunteers will be asked to assist with as many meetings and events as their personal, professional, and or academic obligations allow. Committees will have a Chair and up to two co-chairs with at least one co-chair selected from our youth participants.
